HELLO!
I’m Pavel Nečas—a multidisciplinary product builder and technical specialist working across IT, interactive media, game development, and electro-mechanics.
I tend to thrive in smaller, nimble teams where challenges vary daily and there’s no corporate red tape slowing down execution.
What do I do?
I’m a product-focused generalist who takes ideas from concept to completion. I bridges the gap between client expectations and technical execution—whether that means architecting system logic, mapping UI/UX, rapidly prototyping MVP code, or assembling and leading cross-functional teams.
I don’t treat the computer screen as a boundary. I genuinely love Technical R&D and connecting software to the physical world—wiring microcontrollers, running oscilloscope diagnostics, designing 3D-printed parts, and building custom tooling for legacy machinery.
Whether running a 10-person team or building independently, I am comfortable with whatever the project demands: systems architecture, front/backend code, UI design, audio pipelines, or hardware tinkering.
How it all started
My journey began in Sweden as a 3D generalist and VFX artist, which quickly led me to the Netherlands working in video mapping. In fast-paced event tech, I wore every hat available—project manager, concept designer, and programmer—learning how to deliver creative, high-quality solutions under tight deadlines.
That work eventually took me to San Francisco, where I built large-scale interactive installations for clients like Facebook (F8 conference), Instagram, and Pure Storage.
After relocating to Prague, I expanded into custom VR systems before spending 8 years in game development. While maintaining stable B2B client work, I co-founded a studio, managed production pipelines, mastered end-to-end game logic, and shipped an indie title.
These days, I focus on Product Ownership, Technical R&D, and building pragmatically. I love taking fresh ideas, listening to teams and clients, and turning complex concepts into functional, real-world software and hardware systems.
Hobby?
My hobby is classic cars, which I like to fix. They are much better than the steel tin cans of the modern era, with their useless touchscreens, start stop systems, expensive parts that are impossible to fix, and generally they follow “just throw it out after 5 years” economy.
My baby, a classic E300 W124 Mercedes E-class which I spend too much time on.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in some amazing places like the Netherlands, Sweden, the United States, and the Czech Republic. It’s been a great journey, and it’s great how many people I’ve met during my work travels.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I’m always up for new challenges and collaborations, so don’t hesitate to get in touch!
